My Guiding Philosophy

I provide intellectually and ethically sound consulting services to libraries. My effectiveness is a reflection of the care with which I treat the client relationship. Confidentiality is a central value of my practice.

What I Believe

I believe leaders and people in organizations should drive the process of organizational change and development and that my work with them is to help them discover what they believe, what they wish to do, and how they wish to do those things.

I’m passionate about:

  • Helping people communicate and learn in ways that allow them to create the services, programs, and communities they aspire to create
  • Helping leaders develop vibrant and powerful organizations that accomplish new work
  • Helping people develop their leadership skills
  • Helping groups achieve breakthrough thinking

My Background

I’ve been a library and non-profit consultant, facilitator, leadership coach, and trainer since 1995 after having worked as a librarian for 18 years. I received a Masters in Library Science from The University at Albany and worked in public, museum, academic libraries, consortia, and multitype library systems. Currently I work at the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association.

Born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico I’m fluent in Spanish. I’ve lived in four countries, travelled extensively, and am at ease in diverse cultures and with people from diverse backgrounds.

Art is my passion outside of work. I love museums and looking at art of all kinds. I especially love creating art. It is my other work.
